Today Cole worked alone for nearly an hour on following Lego directions and built this great car. He was very proud of himself.

You're outta here
Cole informed us that in baseball, when a player is really naughty the vampire kicks him out of the game. That is the role of the vampire in baseball.

Noah's Arc
At church during the children's sermon, Pastor Carol told the story of Noah's arc. The kids listened and chimed in with a few details. She asked what Noah did after God told him he was going to flood the world. Cole said, build an arc! She went through the story and mentioned the key points about the water, animals, and then the rainbow. When she was wrapping up, Cole yelled out, you forgot the part about when Noah releases a dove and the dove flies away and comes back with an olive branch. Pastor Carol loved this and the rest of the church was pretty impressed. I must say, I was quite proud of him for remembering the details of the story. That kid really listens and has an amazing memory.

C-o-l-e spells Cole
Cole likes to spell his name, he can pick out the letters. He also can spell Cora's name and frequently yells C-O-R-A. He also can identify all the letters in the alphabet. I quizzed him with some flash cards and he got them all. We haven't really ever practiced before, he is so interested in reading and letters, it is great.

Snow, snow and more snow
This week Seattle experienced an unusual winter storm, so our family got to enjoy almost a week of snow. Initially over the weekend there were just a few inches, so we took a walk and built our first snow man (not pictured). Then on Tuesday afternoon and evening we got so much snow that we all stayed home together Wednesday and Thursday. No work or school for us! We went sledding with Duncan, walked to Mighty-O, and explored creating snow angles & cats in the snow. We also played A LOT of Legos, fighting off some cabin fever by the time the snow began to melt on Friday.
